How to show real authority on a sales call

Real authority isn't performed, it's demonstrated, and it comes from asking the right questions, not from impressive language.

Ask, don't perform

The instinct is to layer on jargon, frameworks and a polished script to sound like an expert. It does the opposite. Performing expertise quietly signals insecurity. Demonstrating it, with sharp and specific questions about their business, signals you've seen this before. Clients don't hire the person who talked the most. They hire the one who understood them fastest.

Try this

On your next call, aim to ask more than you tell. The line that lands better than any pitch is the question that shows you already understand their problem.
